Learn At Glendale Elementary Online
What is GEO Learning?
GEO (Glendale Elementary Online) is an online school in the Glendale Elementary School District #40. Online learning is a method of education whereby students learn in a fully virtual environment.
GEO offers an online learning experience for students in grades K- 8. The interactive, high-quality online courses are taught by certified teachers. We provide a rigorous grade-level curriculum aligned to the Arizona State Standards that focus on high levels of learning.
How do students learn in GEO?
In GEO, the curriculum is available in a learning management system called CANVAS. Students have access to courses, lessons, assignments, videos, review work, and links. This provides flexibility and differentiation for learners. Each grade level teacher has created a homeroom page in CANVAS that includes subjects, announcements, schedules, resources, and instructions.
After assignments, homework, or quizzes are assigned, students can attend office hours to ask questions, get more information, and talk to them about his/her academic progress towards mastery.
Parent/guardian partnership:
Students will learn individually and at their own pace. This provides flexibility for parents and guardians to support their students while they are learning. It is important that students have parental/guardian support at home.
Parents or guardians can have Observer access in Canvas. This allows parents to monitor student learning and progress. They can also access student grades and Time Tracker through ParentVUE.
